Need
help
$10
Polymer
note..
|
Hi,
Need
help
with
$10
Polymer
note,
could
some
note
collector
have
a
look
at
item
8920932
for
me
and
give
a
indication
on
whether
I
have
listed
it
correctly.
I
had
a
look
at
McDonald's
guide
and
if
I'm
right
it
lists
this
note
at
$130
(mint)
But
now
having
doubts
whether
I
read
it
right.
Also
have
a
AB57
note,
I
just
want
to
be
sure
I
am
on
the
right
track,
so
to
speak.
Any
thoughts
appreciated
from
Note
collectors,
Thanks

Hi
Sam..
I
had
a
read
of
your
link,
I
am
still
left
with
feeling
that
maybe
I
have
listed
incorrectly
regarding
it's
value.
I
have
never
had
much
if
anything
to
do
with
collectable
banknotes
and
the
books
can
be
a
bit
confusing
for
somebody
that
doesn't
know
how
to
interpret
them.
I
will
leave
it
as
is
at
the
moment
until
that
is
somebody
comments.
Thanks
for
the
link,
Cheers

Hi
cardspark
Last
Prefix
folder
CV
around
$110
to
$130,
the
CV
is
normally
a
dealers
price,
you
can
normally
calculate
its
sale
value
to
about
50-66%
of
its
CV,
so
about
$55
to
$85,
Because
it
has
a
crease
and
mark
it
unfortunately
drops
its
value
down
a
grade,
so
$65
would
be
about
right.
Regards
Mark

Hi
Mark,
Thanks
for
your
comment,
You
have
hit
the
nail
on
the
head
in
regard
to
my
question,
I
needed
to
know
if
I
had
interpreted
the
book
correctly
and
to
be
honest
I
had
a
stab
in
the
dark
as
to
the
value
of
the
note
because
of
it's
condition,
actually
I
think
I
made
it
sound
worst
than
it
is
but
I
would
rather
do
that
than
misrepresent
the
condition..I
am
basing
my
grading
(if
you
can
call
it
that)
on
my
knowledge
of
collectable
cards.
I
have
another
for
you,
The
AB57
note
is
the
last
one
of
the
second
release
with
the
thick
mottled
varnish
over
the
OVD,
the
book
I
have
quotes
in
EF
condition
about
$550,
surely
that
is
a
bit
rich??
Is
that
note
so
collectable
to
be
worth
that
much??.
Thanks
for
your
input,
Cheers

The
1988
$10
polymer
is
a
difficult
one
to
understand,
there
is
no
great
different
in
the
value
of
the
last
prefix
of
the
first
release
(AB33)
and
the
second
release
(AB57),
there
is
also
little
difference
in
the
general
prefix’s
of
the
first
and
second
release,
this
is
despite
the
second
release
outnumbering
the
first
by
more
than
22
to
1.
The
actual
numbers
that
were
released
are
unknown,
thought
there
were
no
more
than
719,928
first
release
notes
printed
(maximum
29,997
of
each
prefix)
of
which
many
were
recalled
and
destroyed,
it
is
estimated
that
the
second
release
had
between
16,000,000
and
17,000,000
produced,
though
how
many
were
last
prefix’s
is
also
unknown,
initially
54,000,000
notes
were
meant
to
be
issued
but
that
number
was
never
achieved
due
to
the
reprinting
and
subsequent
re-release.
Gauging
from
sales
on
the
internet
sites
though
there
doesn’t
appear
to
be
a
22-1
ratio
in
AB57
(second
release)
compared
to
AB33
(first
release)
notes
offered
but
there
is
certainly
more
AB57
notes
that
come
up
for
sale
than
AB33
first
releases,
also
the
occasional
AB33
note
offered
for
sale
as
a
first
release
are
actually
second
releases,
some
don’t
appear
to
understand
the
serials
that
are
required
for
first
releases.
There
is
some
uncertainty
surrounding
the
issue,
but
yes
the
AB57
does
have
a
high
CV
value,
although
they
don’t
really
realise
those
listed
values
particularly
in
grades
below
Unc
or
aUnc,
most
recent
sales
I
have
seen
in
the
EF
grade
would
be
in
range
of
$150
to
$250.

Mark

Hi
Mark,
Thank
for
your
very
informative
post,
certainly
makes
it
easier
to
understand
than
the
book
regarding
the
values
attached
to
these
notes,
With
the
information
you
have
provided
I
feel
a
lot
more
comfortable
about
listing
these
notes,
just
make
sure
I
get
the
grading
right,
I
would
prefer
to
undergrade
same
as
I
do
with
collectable
cards.
Thanks
again
and
cheers.
