Apple mac laptop 'cracked' screen...twice!!!
Does anyone have any advice?

My daughter has an Apple mac laptop from school and she recently had a badly cracked screen and had to have the screen replaced. It wasn't dropped or anything and it was in the thickly padded bag inside he backpack.

OK I was not happy but i accepted that and got the repair done, but now it has happened again! Only a few days later! Again she didn't do anything there was no incident or accident and it was in the 2 bags the whole time. She is a very responsible girl and i can tell when she is lying so that is not an issue (she is not my first teenager LOL)

I was there when she found the crack this time and she was devastated.

Could there be any chance the computer has a fault that is causing this problem (it is nearly 2 years old)
Has anyone heard of anything like this??? Any advice greatly appreciated.

cheers, belly

Aren't they supposed to be the best??? Sounds faulty to me. Is the work you had done on it under warranty?

I would be ringing their Customer Service and enquiring. Does the pin look like it touches the screen on this lap top? Marian

thanks everyone I was unable to get online again yesterday.

The repairs were not done under warranty as the screens are not covered by apple on their laptops (but they do cover screens on their other computers!!)
The repairs are done by an authorised repairer thru the school.
I have done a search on the net and found lots of other people , adults who have had this happen when there has been no accident or incident with their macs.

For people like me who have not seen a 'cracked' screen before it is actually not like cracked glass but an internal thing that looks like something has gone wrong inside the computer. For all we know there is something wrong with the computer but the experts say it is a 'crack' so that's that!

cheers, belly
