IF A SELLER ENDS NOW OR REMOVES AN ITEM DO U STILL PAY SALE FEES?

HI, Newby here, I spose I should read the rules but its nicer talking on a forum and meeting new Oztioners! I've decided I love an item I have listed and want to keep it, do I have to pay sale fees still for this item?

If it has bids there is a $3 fee, if no fees there is no charge.
Welcome to Oztion, and may all your experiences be pleasnt ones! Marian

I thought once an item had a bid, you were obliged to sell it.  Isn't that correct?

missdaisy - the Op does not have bids on her item - she thought she would be charged a fee to withdraw it from sale.

I think you are right missdaisy. And if there are bids on the item and you try to cancel the auction it costs $3.00

A Seller can end an auction for a fee ( if it has a bid)  while they should uphold a sale ( and abide by the listing policies) obviously the facility to end an Auction is there , so yes they can cancel a sale and not uphold it.

I don't think it happens often , unless there is a genuine reason . Sometimes I've seen a suspect item where obviously the seller wasn't getting the amount they were hoping for and cancelled the bid/sale.

There is a time limit as to when you can do this , which is probably shown somewhere on the Sitemap.

Edit , see pet-mad's last post 08-Nov-2009 22:52

Just a point - Ending an auction is different to canceling an auction.

If you cancel it and there are bids it costs $3.00

If you end it and it has a bid, there is no cost. ie you might be happy with the price and decide to sell to the bidder for that amount. (Not sure how it goes if there are multiple bids though)

hi Cleo
Welcome!

hi pet-mad,
if there is more than one bid it goes to the highest bidder.  Not fair to end it with more than one bidder in the race, but it is possible.

Ooooh, you have sparkly stuff.

If there's anything better than shiny bits, I don't know what it is.

Not even going to look at your stuff now, cleo.

I hate sparkly stuff. But I'm neither cool nor froody.

Nahhh, only loyal hitchhikers fans can reach truly hoopy levels of laidback cool.

You could always try pimpin' your profile, Pete. Fake diamond teeth, leopard print hat, fur coat - I can see you in it. Won't be truly Froodyfied, but hey, not everyone can be so blessed.

Hi Oz,

Thanks for clearing that up. Yes i think it would be pretty unfair to end an auciton early if there is more than 1 buyer.
