Mix mince with some hamburger helper and a little water. Fry up in a frying pan turning a few times with some spring onion cut into two cm lenghts. Add a jar of sweet and sour sauce and 1/4 jar of water and shake to remove left over sauce, simmer on low making sure it doesn't go dry. Serve with plain boiled rice or fried rice etc. Had this tonight (Aldi sauce) it was so nice.

Dice potato into 6mm cubes.

Dice some mushroom into 4mm cubes (optional)

Cover the bottom of non-stick frying pan with olive oil.

Add potato, mince and mushroom to HOT pan.

Stir fry for a couple of minutes until meat browns.

Add frozen peas and some shredded tasty cheese.

Cook for 5-10 minutes, depending on quantity.

I haven't given quantities; I use about 200g of mince to feed me. I find equal amounts of potato and mince work best. The other ingredients are to taste.

Yummo.

Edit: Oh, yeah garlic and/or onion to taste

Italian Style Mealoaf

500 gr good quality mince could be all beef or a mix of beef and/or pork veal chicken turkey
1 1/2 cups Onions and 1 to  3 garlic cloves finely chopped and lightly  sauteed in  little butter or olive oil
1 cup quick-cooking rolled Oats or Breadcrumbs
2/3 cup Ketchup
2/3 cup Fresh Parsley, finely chopped
3 large Eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. Thyme, ground
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
2 cups  Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
1 1/2 tsp. Dried Oregano and a pinch of nutmeg
Position a rack in the center of the oven.  Preheat the oven to 180 degrees .  Lightly grease a 9 x 5” loaf pan,
combine in a large bowl all the ingredients.  Knead the mixture with your hands until everything is well blended. Do not over mix.
Fill the loaf pan with the meat mixture, mounding the top.  Place the pan on a baking sheet and bake until the meat is firm to the touch and has shrunk from the sides of the pan - about 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Pour off the excess fat and let stand for 15 minutes. Nice served with a green salad and roasted vegies - makes great sandwiches.

And Enjoy

Hi Sonja, we had Mince Quiche for tea last night and it was delicious. Sound wierd but believe me it was good and definately something different. I even took a photo of it cause I have added it to our favourites.

Minced beef Quiche

250g mince
1 onion diced
1 tblspn oil
1 tspn salt
1/2 tspn dried oregano
1/2 tspn garlic powder
1/4 tspn ground pepper
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup egg mayonaise
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup grated swiss cheese
1 sheet puff pastry

Lightly grease a 23cm pie plate place puff pastry on plate and trim edges. Blind bake pastry in 210C oven.
Reduce oven. To 180C
Heat oil in frying pan and cook mince and onion until cooked and soft.  Remove from heat stir in salt, oregano, garlic powder and pepper.
In a bowl beat the egg, milk and mayonaise together and stir in cheeses.  Stir into the meat mixture and combine well. Pour mixture into pie case and bake 40-45 minutes or until firm and golden.

crustymum I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
It is sort of cross between a quiche and a pie, I think the swiss cheese taste really shines through. I only had 500g mince so I doubled recipe and made 2 quiches and gave 1 to my mum and dad. They loved it too.

I actually didn't have any swiss cheese so I just used tasty instead, but it still turned out very yummy.
Will definitely try it with the swiss next time.

Thanks for that, another simple recipe to add to my collection...lol
