Watering – dont soak the soil. Rosemary will grow well without a lot of water but will die pretty quick if you get the roots too wet. Use a slow release fertilizer once or twice a year,

Cooking and using Rosemary. Everyone who has cooked a lamb roast knows the importance of Rosemary. Here are some more ideas and tips for you.

Rosemary is is a rich source of anti-oxidants. Try putting some into your cup of tea. It will give the cuppa a whole new flavour and give you a little lift as well. Rosemary oil is said to have the ability to heal delicate organs such as liver, brain as well as heart and its this oil that is released when you add Rosemary to a hot cuppa (Or any cooking really).


Rosemary is also excellent for the hair. Regular use can stimulate hair follicles and slow hair loss. It can also slow greying. Of course the effects will vary from person to person so try it to see if it works for you.

Rosemary essential oil is a disinfectant and is used as a mouth wash. It also helps in removing bad breadth. Use a couple of drops of oil in warm water. Rinse well then spit. - Never swallow any essential oils no matter how diluted.

Rosemary essential oil is an excellent brain and nerve tonic. A couple of drops in the oil burner or make some Rosemary incense and gt them going when you need to concentrate.

If your making kebabs for the BBQ – throw away those cheap wooden skewers and strip the leaves off some Rosemary branches and use those for your skewers. You wont believe how good your kebabs taste !
