They don't make them like they used to

Two knitting pattern books. Aged but good condition. Patterns for gloves, socks and a ski hat. I particularly like the pattern for low cut sockettes, two needle knitting from top of heel to toe.

The old fashioned advertisement for Bourneville Cocoa might make you smile. Amazing the way advertisers try to make things sound so healthy.

The Patons book is Knitting Book no. 232. 6d. 24 pages black and white. Almost all glove patterns: fancy stitches, colour work, embroidery and lace. Mostly ladies but some childrens' sizes. One hat called "Hickory".

The Gloves and Socks: Knitting and Crochet Designs with Accurate Instructions. Price 6d. The New Idea N.S.7. Practical Styles for the Whole Family. Sixteen pages. Cover coming away. Boys socks in Three Sizes, children's gloves also in three sizes. Two needle tailored gloves, men's socks, baby mittens.
