This
Royal Albert trio
has
a
soft
lemony-yellow
border
around
the
top
of
the
cup
and
the
outside
of
the
saucer
and
plate,
with
beautiful
gilt
'lacework'
inside
this
on
a
white
background.
The
trio
is
in
excellent
condition
with
no
chips,
cracks,
or
crazing,
and
only
a
few extremely
light
scratches
in
the
saucer
well
(probably
just
from
lifting
the
cup
and
setting
it
down
again)
but
no
other
signs
of
having
been
used.
The
gilt
trim is thick
and
shiny
at
first
glance, but
on
closer
inspection
there
is
a
very
small
amount
of
white
showing
through,
mainly
on
the
cup
rim
but
the
tiniest
bit
on
the
plate
and
the
saucer
rims
as
well.
The
gilt
'lace'
has
three
very
small 'flat
spots'
on
the
plate but
the
rest
of
it reflects
the
light
beautifully!! When
I
say
'flat
spots',
it's
a
bit
hard
to
describe
- the
gilt pattern
is
there
but
just
not
as
shiny
on
the
top.
One
is
more
obvious
than
the
other
two
and
you
have
to
hold
the
plate the
right
way
to
the
light
to
see
the
second
two.
The
main
one
is
at
12
o'clock (the
very
top
of
the
plate)
in
the
main
picture
but
unfortunately
you
can't
really
see
that
it
isn't
shiny. I
can
send
close-up
photos
if
anyone
would
like
them.
The
cup 'pings'
nicely
when
tapped
lightly.
The
trio
is the
standard size in
the Countess
shape
and
the
cup measures 7
cms
tall
and 8.5 cms across
the
top
opening
(at
the
widest
points).
The
saucer
is
14
cm
in
diameter
and
the
plate
is
16
cms.
The
backstamp
is
the
same
on all
pieces
and
has
the
crown
symbol,
then
reads
"Royal
Albert,
Bone
China,
England."
I
believe
this
backstamp
was
used
from
1945
until
they
started
using
the
floral
backstamps
around
1959.
