an
annual,
reaching
up

60cm
in
height.
From
May
to
August
it
flowers,
sporting
top-heavy
flower
heads
with
a
fragrance

apples.
Native

Europe
and
north
and
west
Asia.
It
is
cultivated
extensively,
especially
in
Hungary
and
eastern
Europe,
where
the
oil
is
produced.
It
is
no
longer
grown
in
Germany,
despite
the
name.
