On offer is this wonderful old EMBROIDERY book - CANVAS EMBROIDERY - COATS - No. 1114 - Published in Glasgow - Printed in Great Britain - Reprint March 1977, that’s in very good condition, especially for its age.

In this collection of designs a number of interesting stitches have been worked alone or combined in groups. Many stitches can be worked on canvas to create a piece of embroidery, giving the appearance of fabric.

One stitch may be used throughout, for example Gros Point, Petit Point, Cross or Upright Gobelin Stitch. The first two stitches are normally used in needlework tapestries. A selection of suitable stitches can be used together if a richness and contrast of stitch texture is required.

Traditional and modern tastes are catered for and the colour arrangements have been planned to suit a variety of homes.

With so many beautiful designs and patterns in EMBROIDERY, this wonderful book has SOMETHING for EVERYONE. All the following projects have a photo (majority are colour) of the completed item along with close-ups of the actual worked embroidered designs and there are full instructions and materials required for each project. With very detailed but easy to follow grid patterns, and an intact pull-out diagram section, this comprehensive book is great for the novice or the more advanced, being both informative and well set out. Towards the front of the book are 5 pages devoted to working instructions and stitches, with detailed diagrams and photos. The stitches covered are :

This great vintage book CANVAS EMBROIDERY, with so many lovely designs and projects is in very good condition throughout, especially for its age, being very clean with NO scribble, writing or notes, rips or tears, creases or folds. The front and back covers also are in very good condition, although display some minimal bookshelf wear and the front cover has a small residue gum mark from the original price sticker. I am especially over critical of my books, trying to note as many details as possible - as I know how important even minor details are for collectors/buyers.
