Our history
OZtion first began it's life in 2005 with a very modest membership. In 2006 OZtion won the "Best New Site" award by ACP's Australian NetGuide magazine and went on to win several Hitwise "Top 10 Site" awards. We have quickly grown to become the 2nd largest dedicated online auction website in Australia.

At the heart of the business is the OZtion philosophy - offer a superior product and service to both buyers and sellers to ensure everyone has a great trading experience. Attracted by the combination of friendly customer service, choice of items, value and our fair sale fees, it's a concept online shoppers are embracing.

In June 2008 we entered into an agreement to be acquired by Melbourne based Jumbuck Entertainment (www.jumbuck.com), an Australian online media company. Jumbuck is successful around the world, and publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: JMB).

Our team
OZtion was founded by Philip Druce and Kelvin Yip in Melbourne in 2005. Together they identified the requirement for OZtion from working in the online industry and began to build a team to offer Australians an Australian online auction site. OZtion's team now includes professionals in online trading, web site development, database systems, internet security and fraud prevention. It's been heaps of fun and challenging building and running OZtion.

We have many procedures in place such as innovative user verification systems (all sellers must be verified), high risk item email alerts, system monitoring, an easy to understand rating system, a buyer protection program and dispute resolution services to help prevent fraud.

The OZtion trading platform has been designed and developed in Australia, using Australian knowledge and Skills. We are an Australian company and all fees are GST inclusive, therefore, there are no GST complications for Australian businesses. When we all support Australian businesses profits stay in Australia benefiting us all.

We offer a fair fee structure for our sellers, eliminating any upfront risk and offering affordable sale fees making it easy for our sellers to list all their inventory, know their costs, pass savings on to buyers, increase sales and margins.

Choice of items
Our seller tools and no upfront risk fee structure make a simple job out of listing items for sale on OZtion. Sellers save time and money and provide a great choice of listings for buyers. We have a fast 'one page' online listing page for low volume sellers and a bulk upload tool (Express Lister) for larger volume sellers. Express Lister can even import items and map categories from Turbo Lister.

We believe in providing all members who contact us with the highest levels of customer service. Whilst we may have some templates we send you, we always aim to provide a human touch to help explain our decisions to you. We listen to our members - many features on OZtion have been a result of members' suggestions. By providing high levels of customer service we ensure our members receive the best possible attention.

CarBuddy
In December 2008, the teams at OZtion and Jumbuck launched www.carbuddy.com.au. CarBuddy is backed by OZtion, the team operating CarBuddy intend to replicate OZtion's ecommerce success in the online car classifieds market and provide Australians with a cost-effective, innovative and simple to use service that will improve the online car classifieds market in Australia. CarBuddy is all about providing dealers and private sellers with the most cost-effective and useful car classifieds website service. CarBuddy provides a place to sell, buy, value, research and chat about cars.
