Free Listing Period

What is the Free Listing Period?
All new listings on OZtion are subject to a FREE listing period. The free listing period is 60 days. During the first 60 days the listing can be relisted until sold or cancelled, for free.

What happens after 60 days?
After the free listing period is up, the listing will end as unsold. You can see unsold listings in your Unsold list. The 60 day period is calculated by the start date of the listing. Depending on the listing format, some listings will actually run for longer than 60 days, see below.

  • Auction and Auction with BuyNow listing formats - The listing will continue to run until the end of it's current duration. For example: If the listing has 4 days left when it becomes 60 days old, the listing will continue for 4 more days, it will not end on exactly 60 days.

  • Classified listing formats - Classified listings have a duration of 45 days, so if the listing is relisted before 60 days, the listing can be listed for a further 45 days.

BuyNow Only listings
Listings that are listed using the BuyNow Only listing format have a duration of 60 days. These listings do not need to be relisted during the free listing period as they will run for the entire free listing period, except of course where they are sold or cancelled prior to 60 days.

What will happen to the end time if I edit an existing listing?
If you edit the duration of an existing Auction or Auction with BuyNow listing, the new duration will not take affect until it is relisted. This is to prevent potential buyers coming back to make a bid only to find out the end time has changed.

If you edit an existing listing and change the listing format to BuyNow Only the end time will be calculated as follows: Start Date + 60 days. For example:

1st July - Item is listed
16th July - Litsing format is changed to BuyNow Only - The listing will have a duration of 44 days left because 16 days have already lapsed. The end time is updated to 30th August
(1st July + 60 days).

How does the Auto-Relist feature work?
Auto-Relist is a feature that can be selected when you list a listing as an Auction or Auction with BuyNow. The listing will be automatically relisted if not sold during the free listing period (60 days). Auto-Relist is turned off after an item has been listed for 60 days. The item will then be moved to your Unsold list the next time it ends. NOTE: Auto-Relist cannot be used with BuyNow Only listings as the duration is already 60 days.

Can I relist an item from my Unsold list if the start date is more than 60 days ago?
Yes, but you will need to pay a relist fee as the free listing period has now elapsed. Click here to see our current fees. Once you relist an 'OLD' listing (older than 60 days) from your Unsold list we will reset the start date to the current date which will allow the listing to be listed for a further 60 days.
