Listing an Item
Before listing items, please read our Listing Policy and Prohibited Items List.

Seller's account
To list an item, click the 'Sell' tab. You need to have a seller's account in order to list an item.
For details of setting up a seller's account, please click here.

Fees
You can list as many different items as you like - there are no upfront fees. All our fees are GST inclusive. A sale fee is charged after a successful auction ends or was purchased using BuyNow. The sales fees are based on a percentage of the final price. Listing upgrade fees apply if you want to upgrade your listing.
To see our fee structure, please click here.

Category
Select an appropriate category to list your item. If you want to list in multiple categories, make sure you have multiple quantities of the item. Listing in the wrong category can result in removal of your item.

Title and subtitle
The 'Item title' should be descriptive to allow people to easily find your item. Try to use clear, concise and relevant keywords to describe your item to assist potential buyers when searching. The 'Subtitle' allows you to further describe your item (note the subtitle is not included in search queries).

Duration and start time
Decide on the length of your listing. You can select a 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 or 28 day 'Duration'. (28 days for BuyNow Only and Classified listings). Decide on when to start the item from the drop down list next to the 'Duration' (which also determines at what time it is going to end).
If you change the 'Duration' of a selling item, the new 'Duration' will only take effect when it is relisted.

Auction Start Price and Bid Increment
The 'Auction start price' is the price of the item when the auction begins. You should set the 'Auction start price' at the minimum price you would accept for the item.
The 'Bid increment' is the minimum bid amount for each subsequent bid, for example if the start price was $5.00 and the bid increment was $0.20 the first bid would be $5.00, the second minimum bid would be $5.20.
The minimum 'Auction start price' and 'Bid increment' is $0.05

Note: If you want your item to appear in the $1 Auctions list, $10 Auctions $10 Auctions list or $50 Auctions$50 Auction list, you must set the start price to exactly $1.00, $10.00 or $50.00 respectively and list it as an Auction item (no BuyNow).

BuyNow (optional)
There are five methods of selling an item:

  1. Auction Only (Buyers place a bid)
  2. BuyNow Only (Instant purchase)
  3. Auction with BuyNow Price
  4. Multi-Item Auction (Auction with a quantity of 2 or more)
  5. Classified

You can choose to offer a 'BuyNow' price with either method 2 or 3 ('Auction with BuyNow Price' and 'BuyNow Only') items. Buyers can purchase an item immediately if they are willing to pay the 'BuyNow' price. When listing as 'Auction with BuyNow Price', the 'BuyNow' option is only available until a bid is placed.

Quantity (when listing as a 'BuyNow Only')
If you have more than one (1) of an identical item, you can enter the 'Quantity available'. Multiple purchases can be made from one or more buyers until all have sold or the listing ends. After each purchase the remaining quantity are relisted as a new item.

Quantity (when listing as a 'Multi-Item Auction')
Multi-Item Auction listings allow a seller to offer two or more identical items in one auction listing. This means the auction can have more than one winner.

When a buyer places a bid on a Multi-Item Auction, they specify how many items they wish to buy and the maximum price they wish to pay per item.

Winning bids are selected in order of bid amount followed by in order of earliest bid time. For example a bid of $20 for 10 items takes priority over a bid of $18 for 20 items. If two bids have the same amount per item, the earliest bid takes priority.

Just like in a traditional auction, the bidder with the highest bid per item gets first choice of how many items they want, and the bidder with the second highest bid per item gets second choice of how many items they want and so on.

Auto-Bidding - as with normal auction listings on OZtion, bidders can rely on our Auto-Bidding system to place the lowest possible bid for them on their behalf. See Auto-Bidding for more info.

Important information for sellers:

  • To list a Multi-Item Auction simply list your item as an Auction with a quantity of two or more.
  • If the item ends with multiple bidders, the highest bidder will be allocated the original item number. Subsequent winners will each be allocated a new item number (a BuyNow item with the Price and Qty they won).
  • If the listing ends with items remaining, the remaining quantity will be relisted as a new Multi-Item Auction.
