How
does
the
referral
program
track
successful
referrals,
referred
by
me?
You
are
given
a
unique
referral
code
that
can
be
added
to
your
emails
or
web
pages.
When
someone
clicks
on
your
link
or
banner
a
cookie
is
created
on
the
their
computer.
If
that
person
joins
OZtion
the
system
will
check
to
see
if
they
have
an
OZtion
referral
cookie
installed
on
their
computer.
This
ensures
that
OZtion
can
track
new
people
you
refer.
Cookies
are
valid
for
7
days
and
will
be
deleted
after
the
person
joins
or
7
days
(whichever
comes
first).
If
a
person
does
not
become
a
member
of
OZtion
on
their
initial
visit,
but
do
become
a
member
within
7
days
of
their
initial
visit,
the
new
member
will
still
be
tracked
as
someone
you
referred.
OZtion
will
credit
your
referral
credit
account
when
your
referred
member
places
their
first
bid
or
purchase
or
receives
their
first
bid
or
sale
(successful
referral).
I
referred
a
member
to
OZtion
but
I
have
not
received
any
referral
credit,
why?
- To
prevent
members
trying
to
refer
themselves,
the
system
will
not
recognise
a
referral
from
the
same
computer
used
to
setup
a
previous
OZtion
account.
- They
may
not
have
become
a
successful
referral
yet,
a
successful
referral
occurs
:
a)
when
the
new
member
places
their
first
bid
or
purchase;
or
b)
when
the
new
member
receives
their
first
bid
or
sale
on
one
of
their
listed
items.
- It's
possible
that
they
deleted
their
cookies
between
the
time
they
clicked
your
link
and
joined
OZtion.
Some
people
disable
cookies,
if
cookies
are
disabled
they
would
need
to
manually
enter
you
in
the
referral
field
on
the
registration
page.
- The
first
referrer
will
receive
the
referral
credit.
If
someone
referred
a
member
(using
a
link)
before
you
did,
the
other
person
will
receive
the
referral
credit
when
the
member
becomes
a
successful
referral.
- For
example
-
Lets
assume
Jack
clicks
on
a
referral
link
from
Pam
but
does
not
register
right
away.
Later
on
Jack
clicks
on
another
referral
link,
this
time from
Linda.
Jack
then
decides
to
join
OZtion
and
places
his
first
bid
or
purchase
or
receives
his
first
bid
or
sale
-
Pam
will
receive
the
referral
credit,
not
Linda.
- In
another
example:
Scott
clicks
on
a
referral
link
from
John
but
does
not
register
right
away.
Later
on
Sarah
tells
Scott
to
join
using
their
username/user
number/email.
When
Scott
joins,
the
user
number
of
John
will
automatically
be
filled
in
the
referral
box
on
the
registration
page.
Even
if
they
overwrite
this
-
John
will
still
get
the
referral
credit
when
Scott
places
his
first
bid
or
purchase
or
receives
his
first
bid
or
sale,
as
he
referred
Scott
first,
not
Sarah.
This
is
fair
as
it
allows
the
first
person
that
referred
the
successful
referral
to
receive
the
referral
credit.
If
you
are
the
first,
you
will
be
the
one
that
gets
the
credit.
