it
was
first
published
in
1948.

adventure

keynote

theme

this
story

the
characters

fictitious,

is
historically
authentic.
This
was
the
first
of
E.V.
Timms's
series
of
Australian
life.
It
covers
the
early
days
of
the
Swan
River
settlement.
Edward
Vivian
Timms
was
a
Queenslander,
born
at
Charters
Towers,
in
1895.
As
a
boy
he
also
lived
in
Coolgardie
(at
the
time
the
great
goldfields
water
scheme
was
completed),
and
later
in
Fremantle,
WA.
He
served
in
two
World
Wars.
His
17th
century
historical
romances,
published
both
in
Australia
and
England,
brought
him
acclaim.
He
also
wrote
short
stories,
radio
plays
and
serials,
and
film
scenarios.
The
book
is
in
good,
clean
condition
with
no
tears,
creases
or
significant
age
marks/foxing.
