'This
is
the
stirring
sequel
to
Forever
To
Remain
and
its
setting
is
firmly
based
in
historical
fact.
Governor
Stirling,
with
his
colonists
near
to
starvation,
has
a
grimly
difficult
task
in
the
first
years
of
settlement
in
Western
Australia.
The
faint-hearted
have
returned
to
England;
those
who
remain
continue
to
struggle
for
survival,
among
them
the
high-born
adventurer
Simon
Lee
Challinor
and
his
wife
Penelope,
lovely
daughter
of
the
inn-keeper
Martha
Gubby.
Searching
for
land
many
miles
from
Swan
River,
Simon
and
Penelope
encounter
Ginny
Lockey,
a
convict
woman
escaped
from
Hobart.
And
the
horrifying
story
of
the
brutalities
and
abuses
to
which
this
women
has
been
submitted
is
brilliantly
woven
into
the
main
narrative'.
