Dyes

Used
with
Dylon
Cold
Dye
Fix,
gives
permanent
colour
to
cotton,
linen
and
viscose,
with
lighter
shades
on
wool,
silk
&
polyester/cotton
mixes.
- Ideal
for
craft
projects
such
as
tie-dye
and
batik,
and
for
smaller
items
e.g.
T-shirts.
- Can
also
be
used
to
dye
unfinished
wood.
- One
tin
will
dye
up
to
250/8oz
of
dry
weight
fabric.
For
Black
only
–
one
tin
will
dye
up
to
125g/4oz
of
dry
weight
fabric.
- Add
125g/4oz
of
salt
and
1
sachet
of
Cold
Dye
Fix.
Increase
the
quantity
of
water
and
salt
in
proportion
to
the
number
of
packs
used.
- For
wool
only
–
use
375ml
vinegar
instead
of
fix
and
salt.

How
to
use
Cold
Water
Dye
on
fabric
PLEASE
READ
INSTRUCTIONS
IN
EACH
PACK
- Wash
fabric
thoroughly
and
leave
damp.
- Fill
a
bowl
with
enough
cold
water
to
cover
item.
- Wearing
rubber
gloves,
dissolve
dye
in
500ml/1
pint
of
hottest
tap
water
and
add
to
bowl.
- Dissolve
125g/4oz
of
salt
and
1
sachet
of
Cold
Dye
Fix
in
hottest
tap
water,
add
to
bowl.
For
Black,
use
250g/8oz
salt
and
2
sachets
of
fix.
- Add
damp,
unfolded
item,
dye
for
1
hour
(3
hours
for
Black).
Agitate
continually
for
first
10
minutes
then
occasionally
for
remainder
of
time.
- Rinse
in
cold
water
until
it
runs
clear
and
wash
as
usual.
