Proctor
studied
under
Julian
Ashton
in
Sydney
and
with
George
Lambert
in
London,
becoming
one
of
the
best
known
Australian
women
painters
of
her
time.
In
London
she
painted
"fin
de
siecle"
fan
designs
similar
to
those
of
Charles
Conder.
She
returned
to
Australia
in
1921,
helping
George
Lambert
form
the
Contemporary
Group
in
Sydney,
and
gave
much
encouragement
to
among
avant-garde
painters.
Her
work
is
represented
in
many
state
and
provincial
collections.
She
died
in
1966
