Hi there, It has automatic temp which is accurate as I have had a small digital wire probe type thermometer sitting in mine for the last 20 days and the temp always sits between 37.0 - 37.7. There is a small hole in the lid of the unit where the probe can hang down to the level of the top of the eggs. These thermometers can be purchased from between $10-$20. Regards Joe.
