Description
A very pretty all-over-floral bon bon or sweet dish by
Midwinter of Burslem England.
The mark is very faint and wouldn't photograph well
but I was able to decipher enough to pin the mark as
Midwinter.
The "B" above the mark is a group letter introduced
by the British Board of Trade as part of wartime controls.
These controls were in force from 1942 - 1947 so the
piece can be dated accurately to this period.
The front is in very good condition with the colours
bright and vibrant. Unfortunately there is a small chip
at the back leading to a very fine hairline crack about
2cm long which doesn't come through to the front.
It is not anywhere near as bad as the photo shows it
and can only be seen on close inspection.
However I have priced it accordingly.
Measures 14cm square.
