The groundbreaking thriller, starring Kiefer Sutherland as Special Agent Jack Bauer, 24 is filmed in real-time. Combined with split-screen scenes of simultaneous action, 24 takes place hour-by-hour over 24 hours on the day of the Californian Presidential elections. The action starts at midnight as Jack Bauer of the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) faces the longest day of his life. He is about to take on his toughest missions to date - to foil the assassination attempt on presidential candidate Senator David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), and to rebuild his marriage with his wife Terri (Leslie Hope). When their daughter Kimberly (Elisha Cuthbert) sneaks out with her best friend Janet, Terri sets out to find her with the help of the Janet's father.

In the meantime, Jack has been framed for the assassination attempt and flees the CIA agents to find the real perpetrators led by Ira Gaines (Michael Massee). The plot thickens as revelations about Senator Palmer's family arise and Terri's hunt for Kimberly gets more and more dangerous. Jack becomes incapacitated and only has his mobile phone and the help of his trusted colleague at CTU Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke) to help him. Nina works undercover to provide Jack with information about Gaines and the wherabouts of his family.

*THE EPISODES*

12:00 A.M.-1:00 A.M.
Moments after discovering his daughter Kimberly has snuck out of the house, Jack Bauer is called into work at CTU. As head of the CIA's Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) office he is told that an assassination attempt will be made within the next 24 hours on the life of Senator David Palmer and its up to his team of agents to keep Palmer alive. Mean while, Jack's wife Teri, sets out to find their daughter.

1:00 A.M.-2:00 A.M.
Teri receives a phone call from Alan York who says that his daughter, Janet, is a friend of Kim's' and is also missing, so the two parents join forces to find the girls. Even as Jack is secretly called out from the office and given an encrypted key card containing information on the Palmer hit that could lead him to a dirty agent inside his organization, the explosion of a 747 over the Mojave Desert becomes yet another piece of the puzzle.

2:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M.
Kimberly and Janet realize that they are in danger after it becomes clear that their two dates have kidnapped them. Despite the threat on his life, Palmer sneaks out of his hotel to meet a reporter who had some damaging information that could affect his campaign. At the office, Jack has Jamey, a member of his team, decrypting the key card.

3:00 A.M.-4:00 A.M.
Convinced that Jack needs to be relieved of his command, Tony, one of the team members, calls George Mason who arrives and puts CTU under lock-down. With the help of his second in command, Nina, Jack slips out of CTU and heads to an address listed on the key card. Once there he encounters a shooter, who hints that Kimberly's disappearance is part of a bigger plan. Meanwhile, the two boys deliver Kim to a man named Gaines.

4:00 A.M.-5:00 A.M.
Jack follows the arrested shooter to the police station in hopes of interrogating him, only to find that Mason has arrived and taken control of the situation. But when the shooter says he will only speak to Jack, Jack learns that he must sneak the shooter out of jail in order to learn who has kidnapped Kimberly. Back at the hotel, Palmer learns more abut the threatened news leak that could hurt his campaign.

5:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M.
Jack meets Teri and Alan York at St. Marks Hospital were Janet has been admitted. The reunion is cut short when Jack receives a phone call from Gaines, who tells Jack to follow his instructions if he ever wants to see his daughter again. At CTU, a dead body that Jack found is identified as Alan York. When Nina calls Teri and asks her to pass on this information to Jack, Teri realizes she is in BIG trouble.

6:00 A.M.- 7:00 A.M.
Now, under surveillance from Gaines, Jack goes to CTU where he is quizzed by Nina, who is getting in the way of Gaines' plans. Teri, now realizing she's in danger, tries to escape from the supposed Alan York, but when she calls CTU she only helps York by telling the dirty agent inside CTU were she is. Meanwhile, Palmer tries to convince the family that they need to tell the world about a dark and secret personal tragedy, from the past before its too late.

7:00 A.M.-8:00 A.M.
To save Kim and Teri, Jack is ordered to deliver a case to a man at Palmer's presidential rally. Jack soon realizes that the man is an assassin; Jack must find a way to protect the Senator and his family. At CTU, Tony and Nina think that have found the mole.

8:00 A.M.- 9:00 A.M.
Jack prevents the assassination, although he is taken into custody, where he tells the agents about his kidnapped wife and daughter, but his story is not believed. Jack knows that he must escape to help save his family from Gaines. At Gaines' compound Kim and Teri struggle to stay alive. At CTU Tony and Nina wire the unit to flush out the mole without Gaines' knowledge, as he is watching every move via the security cameras.

9:00 A.M-10:00 A.M.
Alberta Green is bought into CTU to take charge. Nina must try to help Jack find Kim and Teri without Alberta finding out. Jack meanwhile is tracking down Ted Cofell, who is an investment banker, whose name is mentioned on the now decrypted key card. Palmer meanwhile learns that one of his associates is willing to commit murder to protect his campaign.

10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.
Andre Drazen contacts Ira Gaines, and is unhappy how the morning events have not gone to plan (e.g. Palmer not being assassinated). Jack kidnaps Ted Cofell, who has a Serbian accent. Jack then gets Nina to break into an old secret mission file in which Jack was in Belgrade and Kosovo 2 years before. Jack then meets Cofell's associate, who turns out to be the man impersonating Alan York.

11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Alberta Green is trying to find out were Jack is via Nina and Tony. Jack makes York lead him to Gaines' compound where Jack attempts to rescue Kim and Teri by himself. Meanwhile, Palmer is trying to prevent a murder, which fails and soon Palmer suspects his wife Sherry may be involved in the conspiracy against him.

12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M.
Gaines realizes he has failed the Drazen's, and chooses death instead of helping Jack. The moles mother is being interrogated by Nina and Tony and learn about bank accounts which have deposits from Belgrade in them. They also discover that 2 more assassins are on their way to L.A.

1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M.
Jack is being questioned at CTU whilst Kim and Teri are checked out at a clinic. Palmer recognizes the name Bauer and has Jack checked out. He discovers that Jack is the sole survivor of a secret mission 2 years ago that Palmer had authorized. Palmer thinks that Jack is out for revenge and wants to talk to Jack as soon as possible, face to face.

2:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M.
Jack convinces Palmer that he is not the baddie. They go over the "Operation Nightfall" file. The aim of the operation was to kill a man called Victor Drazen. Further information leads them to conclude that they are both targets. A scare at the clinic makes Nina take Kim and Teri to the safe house.

3:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M.
Jack learns that the assassin Alexis Drazen is Victor Drazen's son and is intimate with one of Palmer's staff. In an attempt to find out who is ordering the assassination, Jack wants to plant a tracking device in Alexis' wallet. At the safe house, Kim and Teri realize that they are unsafe.

4:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M.
Teri and Kim are separated when trying to escape the safe house, and Teri suffers amnesia after passing out. Kim, thinking that her mother has been kidnapped again, tries searching for her mother using her own information. The plan to track Alexis backfires and Jack pretends to be Alexis when he rendezvous with one of his contacts.

5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M.
Palmer decides to go public about his family's secret, against their wishes. Andre Drazen sends another assassin to the Bauer house in hopes of getting Kim and Teri. Teri meets Dr. Parslow, who says that he is an old friend. He too is unaware of the danger Teri is in and offers her a ride home.

6:00 P.M.-7:00P.M.
Alexis' contact works for the electricity company, who is being paid to turn off power to a grid in the middle of a empty field. Jack and Mason follow up the lead. Kim's search for her mother means she ends up in jail and Palmer's speech could mean Keith ends up in jail.

7:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
Kim tries to get the police to call CTU. Jack discovers that the field contains a secret underground government prison, and that the next inmate to arrive, is none other than Victor Drazen, the man Jack supposedly killed 2 years ago. Jack realizes that Drazen's sons are going to help him escape.

8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M.
Drazen's sons break into the prison and rescue their father. Jack is taken hostage and Drazen calls CTU, but Mason tells him that they don't work with terrorists. To buy some time, Jack tells Drazen his son Alexis is alive. Kim is finally released from prison, but her journey back to CTU is cut rather short.

9:00P.M.-10:00 P.M.
Jack gets Nina to connect the phone to Alexis Drazen's hospital bed so he can talk to his father. Palmer tells Mason to exchange Jack for Alexis. The deal goes ahead. Drazen has Kim and tells Jack he has one more thing to do.

10:00P.M.-11:00 P.M.
Jack arrives at Palmer's hotel and is awaiting a call from Drazen. Drazen wants $200,000 of his assets unfrozen. Palmer tells Jack that its impossible, and Jack grabs the phone and throws it out the window as it explodes. Realizing Drazen will not give up, Jack makes sure the news company's think that Palmer is dead, leaving Jack to exchange himself for his daughter.

11:00 P.M.-12:00 A.M.
Jack arrives at Drazen's location. He calls Drazen and asks to speak to Kim. Andre refuses and tells Jack he knows Palmer is alive. Jack phones Nina and warns her there is a mole at CTU. Nina them calls Back with some bad news for Jack.
